This track began with me revisiting an especially placid chimes performance from a while ago—one I always wanted to do something with. On the one hand, I do enjoy releasing work that sometimes is just a document of "what happened" when I hit record—to know that those moments are sometimes all that needs to be heard. But as I revisited the churning tape hiss and noise from the cassette recorder, it also made me think of the gentle pulse of flowing water. So I brought a stream from many miles and years away to sit alongside these chimes and I think they interact in a charming way. Even if it's not exactly what happened, it's what is happening now.
